Mabel Normand, in “Sis Ilopkinds,’" to be screened tonight, will do the same. Her characterisation ot Rose Melville's little country wisehead will come as a great surprise to all who have followed up her work In “Sis Hopkins” she completely sinks her own individuality, and becomes the hoyden of the badeblocks who refuses to grow up to the very life. From the ridiculous daisies on her straw bat, to the pigeon-toed walk that her boots give her, boots “chosen by Paw to lit her feet, not her head/’ she is a different being from tho Mabel who has become dear to screen patrons. She has solved the problem of how to be lovable though gawky, and in spite of the awful gestures and clothes she affects in the picture, is as fascinating as over. On Monday night a new Tom Mix picture is announced, called “Ace High.” The noted William Fox star will appear in a new light, and a great deal of interest is awakened thereby. In this new drama he is a member of the Royal Northwest Mounted Police, and his exploits are largely in the midst of the Canadian ■wilderness. However, the character that he presents is very much the same as that which has appeared in his former productions. He is the same daring man, and he makes love in the same dashing way.
