ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
■ Ta Shape, Feb. 23. On Saturday afternoon, Patrick Leahy, a retired pioneer citizen of Taihape, was killed on the He missed the train at- Mataroa, and decided to walk along the. railway line. He was overtaken by a special goods train, and killed instantly. Deceased was aged 55 years.' He leaves a'widow, eight sons and three daughters. • Wellington, Feb. 23. Edward McLeod, a wharf labourer, whoso skull was fractured by the overturning of a motor car in which he was being driven into town from Lyall Bay on Friday night, died in the hospital this morning. He was a single man, 23 years of ago. Two other passengers were also injured. Mgs Maud Taylor is in the hospital suffering from shock and injuries to the head, and Mrs Edge sustained an injury to the arm.* The driver escaped with a few bruises. Wellington, Feb. 22. Albert Olsen, employed by the Post and Telegraph Department, was electrocuted this morning on a high-powor wire running to ■ the wireless station on the Tinakon Range. Deceased was a returned soldier and unmarried. Christchurch, Fcl). 22. A young man named Nelson Dalzell was killed in a motor accident between Ha warden and Waikari on Saturday night. Deceased, and a companion were riding home from (he city on a motor cycle, and were overtaken by a motor ear. A collision occurred, and the motor cyclists were thrown heavily. Dalzell was killed almost instantly; Wanganui, Feb. 22. A. Ik Mosley, aged 28, a returned soldier belonging to Hawera, who v.as appointed a shunter til Marlon, was brought into Wanganui Hospital with one leg fractured, and the oilier badly lacerated, as the result of a shunting accident. ,
