RED SHIELD CLUB.
The His I annual mooting of subscribers to the above institution'was held in the Club room last night. Captain Gotfin presided, and briefly reviewed the work of the year. Ihe secretary, Mr Tver, submitted the balance-sheet, which disclosed a credit of about £O. The assets over liabilities were £IOO odd. The statement was adopted. The outgoing committee was re-elected, namely, the Mayor (Mr John Chryslail), Captain. Golliu, and Messrs Tver, Brown, Perreau, Whibley and McMurruy. Mr Hornblow was added to the Committee. It was decided to gran! a bonus of £l2 to Captain Gottin, and appreciative references were made to the work done, by this oflicor and the secretary, Mr Tver. It was resolved lo invite the public to become members at one guinea per year. It was resolved to draw up a syllabus for the year, including lecture! fes, and to form a musical class. In order to assist the finances, it was decided to organise and carry out two concerts. Committee meeting's were arranged for the fast week in each month. Other matters in connection with the Club’s welfare were discussed. ~
