RIFLE SHOOTING.

The match against Levin for the Fresh Food and Ice Co.’s Cup, which was tired on the Levin range last Saturday, resulted in Levin’s team retaining possession of the Cup by the narrow margin of six points only. The conditions were eight men aside, seven shots each, at ranges of 200,-500 and (500 yards. The contest, with the weather sunny and breezy, was most interesting, I he' issue being doubtful right up to the last few shots fired. Shooting commenced at about 1.30 o’clock, and afternoon lea was provided for the thirsty. At about 5.15 short reciprocal speeches of thanks, and cheers for the opposing teams, brought an enjoyable shoot to a close. The scores in the match were as follows :
