The, following letter Irma the Prime Minister Ims been received by Mr E. Newman, M.P.. who iu-iyjiii:it-ed the proposal whereby the British Seamen’s Emul is to. belie lit by the surplus wool protits accruing to those New Zealand farmers who joined the scheme; —"1 have to acknowledge the roeeipt of your letter of 14th January, and in reply to state that the latest reply to the Government’s inquiries on the above subject indicates that figures relative to the pm tits to 31st March, 19-18, will be available at an early date, it being pointed out that great difficulties have been experienced in -arriving at finality owing to the drastic and compulsory reduction of the staff of the Imperial Government Departments concerned. 1 would add my assurance that every effort will be made to enable the distribution of profits to growers to bo carried out with us little delay as ;■ Bible,*- . .
