THE SAMOAN TRIP.

The Wellington Education Board meeting yesterday, Mr J. P. Shand moved: That this Board enter an emphatic protest against the action of the Government in arranging an unnecessary visit to Samoa and other Islands in the South Seas, thereby expending large sums of public money that might be circulated to greater advantage in combatting many problem? of our time.

In the course of the discussion the chairman (Mr Forsyth) pointed out that the Government should nut be blamed, as Parliament had decided that the trip should be ■made. V
