LOST AND FOUND.
A SEASIDE SENSATION. A sensation was caused at the local seaside; on Thursday evening when the news was circulated that two little girls were missing. . ft appears that Air and Airs F. Alarm, accompanied by their two children and a niece, arrived at the ocean beach during the afternoon, and sought a shellered spot between the sand dunes. Aland Culbransun (a niece), aged 7, and Rose Minin, aged 5, proceeded.to gather shells. In an endeavour to return, the little ones failed to locale the rigid hummocks, ami walked on and round hillocks in the direction of Ihe “Round Bush”until knocked up. They went to sleep on the top of a sand dune, and during the, night rolled to the bottom. When the little ones were-missed, .Mr Munn, together with several others, scoured the beach for miles. The trail of Ihe children was picked up inland, and followed, hut darkness coming on the search had lo he abandoned until daylight. # The beach folk and Eoxton police and rcsidenls took up the search in a systematic way at break of day, and Air Hartley succeeded in locating them well inland at about 0.30 a.m., much to the relief of the parents and public. ' The little ones did not suffer any grave hardship, save a few scratches on the leg and a fright, and when seen by our representative yesterday appeared none the worse for their experience, about which they chatted freely.
