EDUCATIONAL.
THE uselessness of Education Boards as the intermediary between Committees and Department dms again been exemplified in Levin. Application was made by the Levin Committee some time, ago to the Board for increased accommodation, but nothing was done by ‘ the Board. The School Committee took advantage of the Premier’s visit to Levin last week, and placed the nuilter before him. Mr Massey staled he fully realised the urgency of the east 1 . It' the attendance at the school was increasing, aeeom- , modation must he provided. He could not understand why the work agreed upon had been held up in this manner. Parliament had voted large sums for school buildings, and it could not be a question of want of money. It appeared to him as if the fault was with the Education Board. It was quite apparent something must he done at once to overcome the difficulty, and he would go into the/limiter immediately on "Ids return to 'Wellington. What would have happened at Pal-, mersion N. if the Committees there had not gone over tin; heads of the Board ; The time has surely come for Ihe abolition of triple control of our educational affairs.
