DECEMBER WORKING. The amount of gas manufactured during the month of December was 480,800 ft., which) with the amount in the bolder on December Ist, 17,(fit) ft., made a total of 497.800 ft. The . manager reported as follows : —The amount of gas manufactured during the month of December shows ii good increase as against the previous month, and a slight increase as against the corresponding month of the previous year. T am still getting a fair number of meters not registering each month, but you must expect this, as the life of a dry meter is only about eight or nine years. I have been with you nearly three years, and have worked full time. 1 am sure the present stoker is quiio competent lo' carry on. The plant is working isfaclory. —The report was adopted, and it was decided that the Inspector of Nuisances assist a! the gas works during the stoker’s and manager's absence, and (hat his wages be increased from ,C 3 to £4 per week during this period.
