MAORI BOY’S DEATH.
A MYSTERY. • Paten, .Yesterday. An inquiry info the circumstances surrounding the .edath of a Maori boy named Kangiliopukia, near Raotihi, lias been concluded, but the mystery of the tragedy i> still unsolved. No one )vih seen in the vicinity of the camp during the day. The hoy was sent home late in the afternoon to make a. fire. The father swore Urn! when he arrived Irnue about (i o’clock he found the boy's dead-l>ody on the floor. An exami-nation-by a doctor revealed llmi the boy had been shot through the heart. 1 The police suhsequenily discovered a revolver hidden in a. tin trunk, and a blank cartridge in an adjoining room. The verdict was thiil deceased was killed at Oraukakaru on 17th December by being shot through the heart with a revolver bullet, but that there was not .sullicieut evidence at present to determine who tired the shot.
