METHODIST SUNDAY SCHOOL.
The annual eonecrt and prize-o-ivins in eonneelion with the above was held in the Masonic Hall on Wednesday last. There was a good altendance of parents and friends, e.ndihe Rev. Harding presided. The programme was as follows: Pianoforte duet by Misses Honore and Rnl).v King, recitations by Lylla Robinson, “Fairyland,” Albert Ruluiek, .“‘Children of the Empire,” Violet Bangs, “Fathers Ship,” pianoforte duet by Nina Seadden and Esina Oxley, dialogue by eight girls, entitled “The Grandma's Sewing Bee” (the make-up caused much amusement, and little Aliases Ala vis Cole and Vena Owen deserve a special word of praise). A sweet little song sung by three little girls, Lylla Robinson, Margaret Stall and Bertha Griffin, entitled “The Spider,” and later another by Nina Seadden, Vera Parker and Lylla Robinson, entitled “Forget-me-Nots,” were well received. These ebildren were tutored by Miss Evans. Other recitations were given by Oriole Robinson, Dulcie Stuff, and Mavis Cole. The secretary's report was read, and some of the special hymns repeated. Prizes were awarded to the following ediildren: —Girls: (Mrs Huntley's class), Ist Dolly Brown, 2nd Phyllis Robinson, 3rd Chrissie Honour; Miss Honore’s class, Ist Mavis Cole, Ist Esma Oxley, 2nd Mercia Osborne; Miss Evans’ class, ,Ist Violet. Bangs, 2nd Tessie Huskey, 3rd Vera Parker; little girls’ class, Ist Decama Brown, 2nd Berta Griffin, 3rd Rea Osborne. Boys; (Mr Huntley’s class), Ist Roy Parker, Sam Hussey, Gilbert Parkin, Bernard Chrystad (equal marks); Miss Seadden’s cfas.|, Ist Bruce Cbrystall, 2nd Walter Staff, 3rd Hurston Ruback; Miss Chalk’s class, Ist Billie Hussey, 2nd Robin Chrystall, 3rd Alfred Staff; little boys’ class, Ist Bobbie Bangs, 2nd
Donald Chrystall, 3rd Frank Cowlev. A gift book was handed to every other’ child attending the school, and a special prize to Dolly Brown for homework, presented by Mrs Huntley, and another to .Vena Owen by Miss Honore. Refreshments were partaken of at the conclusion. The Superintendent and teachers wish to thank all who helped in any way, especially Mr Betty, Miss Chalk and Mr Moorman.
