A NEW' BONUS. Wellington, Dee. -1. In the Arbitration Court to-day Mr Justice Stringer made a pronouncement in respect to the additional bonus to be granted on the report of the Government Statistician in regard to' the cost of hying and the increase in prices." He staled that the bonus had been estimated at Id an hour in addition to the 2t.d per hour already granted, making 3MI per hour in all for 'workers paid by the hour. For workers paid by the week am additional bonus would amount to 4s per week. Tire extra bonus would be made due from January Ist next,- and as" there was no machinery to make the awarding of it automatic, and it would take some time to hear all applications, the award would be made retrospective to January Ist, 1020, in each case, as it would be necessary to lake each case on its merits. Formal application must be Hied by all unions wishing to take advantage of the provisions.
