There is every likelihood of a keen contest for the new seat of .Rangilikei between two officers of the Expeditionary Force, owing to the x*elireinent of the first selected Reform candidate, Mr 13. P. Lethbridge, under medical advice. In bis place (he Reform Party has secured a very strong candidate in the person of Major W. S. Glenn, M.C., a well-known settler in the district, who is known all over New Zealand as a member of the famous “All Black” Rugby team that toured Great Britain in 190(5-07. Major Glenn went to the war in 1915, and obtained a commission in the Royal Field Artillery, He fought all through (he war, won his Military Cross in aclion, ami rose from sccondliculcimut lo major.
Major (flenn will he opposed by I>r!gadior -Gen er a 1 Meblrmu. who fought with the New Zealand Mounted Rifles in Palestine. He is a solicitor, who is also well known in the district.
