DATE OF ELECTIONS.
No definite date has yet been fixed for the elections, hut it can be said with certainty that rumours naming 41h December are quite incorrect. The Prime Minister’s statement that the election cannot be held before second week in December still stands, and as the beginning and end of the week are ruled out, Iltb December is generally regarded as the most probable day. The Government will not bo likely to push the date nearer to Christmas than can possibly be avoided.
