A decree nisi for dissolution had been made on 18th February, 1911), on the husband’s petition founded on the wife’s adultery. It was asked by the petitioner that an allowance of IDs per week or the payment of a lump sum of £IOO be made. The grounds for the application were that the petitioner was without means and unable, by reason of ill-health, to earn a livings* Medical evidence had been given to ‘the effect that she was not fitted for hard work on account of chronic trouble. Considering all the circumstances, His Honour agreed to make an order for payment to the petitioner of 10s per week, or, if the respondent preferred it, to pay the lump sum of £IOO.
