RED SHIELD CLUB.
On Saturday last Mrs AustinJuhnston’s committee of the Ladies’ .Auxiliary held a “simp” day for the purpose of raising funds tor the Club, being the last of the lour committees the ladies had formed themselves into for this, purpose. At the end of the day it was iound that they had realised the sum ot twenty pounds. Gifts wore received from the following; Mrs Kenton, Mrs Harvey, Mrs W, Signal. Mrs Barr, Airs S. Easton, Mrs Healey, Mrs Auslin-Johnston, Mrs Eraser, Airs A. Boss, Mrs Kerreau, Mrs TJiynne senr.. Airs A. S. Easton, Air I*. W. Brown, Miss J. Boss, Mrs 11.I 1 . Robinson, Mrs W. Barber, Airs John Robinson, Airs C. Robinson, Mrs Rough, Airs Percy Easton, Miss Symons, Airs Jas. Robinson, Airs Erankland, Airs Tver, Airs Freeman, Airs Kellow, Airs Chalk, Mrs Oxley, Airs J. Cummerlield, Mrs Hunt, Mrs L. Bullard, Mr M. AAalker, Mrs At. Walker, Miss L. Signal. .Mrs L. Carrie, Airs Gower, Airs Green, Airs J. Ross and Air Perreau, and cash donations were given by Airs Book, Air A.. Ross, Mrs W. Barber, Miss S vinous, Airs Boss, Mrs Cowley, Mrs Rough, Mrs Sealmry, Mrs F. Easton. Mr AV. Signal, Airs Houoro, Aliss Houoro, Air AL A\ alkcr, Airs Auslin-Johnston, Airs Aloorhonse, Airs Barr, Airs \V. Signal. -
The ladies of the Committee were Airs Austin-Johnston (president), Airs Alex. Ross, Airs Roman, Alls* Symons, Mrs Signal, Mrs Burr. The Auxiliary has 11ms raised the total sum of £lOl Is 3d, as lows :—Mrs AV. E. Barber’s Committee (shop day), £3O 9s 7d; Airs Freeman (concert), £25 Os 8d; Airs Jas. H. Robinson (direct appeal), £25 11s 0d; Airs Austin-Johnston (shop day), £2O. All those interested in the welfare of the Club will look with pride and gratitude upon the work of the Auxiliary who have ungrudgingly given much time, and spared themselves no labour, In this worthy cause. It remains to bo seen now how far the boys for whose direct benefit these ladies have worked so hard will show their appreciation by taking full advantage of the Club and supplement the ladies’ work by their own efforts in making it a suecess.
