GIRL SHOT BY GERMAN PISTOL,
Christchurch, Last Night. ; Through the accidental discharge of a German pistol, Miss Marjorie Legh, daughter of Mr A. K. Legh, manager of the Christ church branch (<f the Dunlop-Rubber Co., now lies in the Lewisham Hospital with a/'.' bullet wound in her chest. day morning Lieut. B. Pearson, R.N.Est (at one time master of the ■f*»tislal steamer Opouri), relumed to. Christchurch from active service, ■hawing arrived by the liemuera. In . the afternoon Lieut. Pear-mi - showing some friends who live.in the , neighbourhood several war trophies wliieh he had broughtßack with hinV and among them was a pistol, which/ he did not know was loaded. The pistol was accidentally discharged, Miss Legh receiving the bullet. -4
