RETURNED SOLDIER’S DEATH.
SERIOUS CHARGE AGAINST
MOTORIST,

At the inquest on the death of Mr Beresford R. Bayley, a returned soldier, the Coroner (Mr Wilson, S.M.) returned a verdict that the collision between the tram and motor ear was •caused by Arnold Leeky (the driver of the motor ear from which deceased was thrown) leaving his proper side of the road to pass the tram ear, which lie was following.
Later, Leeky was charged with manslaughter, and remanded cm bail of £IOO and bis own surety of £IOO.
