BOWLING.

The official opening of the Palmerston green took place on Saturday afternoon, when visitors were present from Terraee End, Foxton, Manawatn and Feilding, Mr H. Seifert, president of the Club, welcomed the visitors, and .Miss Seifert played the first bowl. Foxton was represented by two rinks, both of which were successful in their games. The match Mandl v. Dixon was a particularly’‘Close and interesting one, the Foxton team winning by one point on the last head. The following are the teams and scores in the games in which the Foxton players took part:— Furrie Childs Kellow Tattersall Hawke Fletcher Mandl (s) 15 Dixon (s) 14 D. Whibley Ilopwood G. Whibley Jackson Nye Briscoe F." Whibley'(s) 25 Lovelock (s) 10 The Shannon and Manawatn greens will be opened to-morrow afternoon, and the Foxton Club will be represented at both openings. The Levin green will be opened nevt Monday (Labour Day).
