WORKERS’ EDUCATIONAL ASSOCIATION.
The final lecture for this- session at the Fox ton class of the Workers’ „ Educational Association took place last night, when there was tv good attendance. .The lecturer, Mr G. M, Henderson, M.A., dealt with the ■ question of land prices and speculation, and explained Ricardo’s Theory of Rent. He also touched on the ' question of the Moat Trust, and read some very interesting extracts from the evidence given by J. Ogden Armour before a Parliamentary Committee in America, concerning (he operations and growth of - the Armour Meat Packing Company. At the conclusion of the lecture a number of questions wore answered. Those present afterwards adjourned to Mr Pcrreau’s rooms, where light refreshments were served. The Mayor (Mr -1. Cbrystall), on behalf of the class, thanked Mr Henderson for the interest he had taken in (he welfare of the Foxlon class, and said he felt sure that oneand all had enjoyed Ins lectures very much, and as a result of same now had a far belter idea of economics. Mr L. J. Fume and DkA Mamll also spoke in eulogistic terms of the enthusiasm displayed by Hr Henderson in connection with (he classes. Mr Henderson thanked the speakers for (heir kind references, and said that Ins visits to Foxlon had been a source of great pleasure‘to-him. The of the class here had taken a very keen interest in their subject, aijd lie believed this class was probably llie host attended of any in the Wellington district outside of the city itself. He thanked the members of w, ihe class for their assistance during ' lbe session, ami hoped that next \ear the same interest would be evinced. The gal boring was brought to a close by the singing of “Fur He’s a Jolly Good Fellow.”
