CORRESPONDENCE.
(To the -Editor.)
Sir.—l read in Saturday’s “Herald” that some one at a welcome social had said that Foxton did not possess church cliques. Surely, Sir, the good man goes about with his eyes shut. I have lived long enough to know that some of the chief snobbery cliques [ have come up againsl are connected with certain 'branches of Die so-called Christian Church. Do you know, Sir,-that I have known people, in order to hobnob with certain cliques, and to get into a set, have left the denominations of their fathers. No church cliques! What a foolish statement. I would ask liow’mauy trucly realise whal church membership means, mid the object of church attendance. Can it he said Dial there is a true spirit of unity and charily anmng church people. It is in many a mere mailer of Jorm without a change of heart, and while Ibis is so cliques and col cries will ho found in every church, —Yours apologelically,
SINNER. [THE speaker referred to endeavoured to explain Dmt the members of the various churches worked together for any object for the common good. —Ed.H.]
