FOXTON BOROUGH COUNCIL.
* SPECIAL MEETING
A special meeting of the FoxtonBorough Council was held last night to deal with applications for license for the Koval Theatre, and also to, discuss matters in connection the land presented by Mr A..S. Easton. There were The Mayor (Mr .John Chrys(all) and Crs. Cole\, Bryant, Parkin, Me Mur-
ray, Walker, Pearson, Thompson and Kami. ROYAL THEATRE. ‘
A report was read from Mr West, architect, of Palmerston North, who inspected the building on behalf of the Council, recommending that certain alterations should be made. The matter was dealt with in committee, and upon resuming in open council (he following motion was passed: That a licen.se be . granted to Messrs Hamer and Sou ? nhen the alterations indicated by •the inspecting architect, Mr West, have been duly completed to the satisfaction of the Works Committee, and provided that the inspection fee of £2. is paid by Mr Hamer prior to the issue of such license; the Town Clerk and the Council’s appointees to have the right to enter and inspect the building as provided in section 308 of the Municipal Corporations Act, DOS, and to ensure that the provisions of the bylaws are being complied with in reespeef to constructing brick wall on (he east side of power house, and also brick walk on back of picture theatre. RESERVE. The Mayor reported that everything was now ready for the transfer of (he land from Mr A..S, Easton to the Council, and a motion was passed instructing Mr Moore, Borough (Solicitor, to have the transfer completed. The quest ion of the best, means pf access to the land was discussed, and it was eventually decided to refer this matter to the Reserves Committee to submit a report at next Council meeting.
