. Local Board Election.—The following is (he result of the poll for the Local Board Election: Whyte 24, Loudon 22, Coley 21, Easton 20, Gray 16, Bartlett 14, Perreau 4. The first five Avere elected. Timber. —We understand that some big lots of timber Avill shortly be coming to Foxton for shipment, one firm having an order for nearly 70,000 feet to fulfil for Christchurch. In view of this and other large shipments the same firm' are negotiating for the purchase of a suitable vessel, and ere long avo hope to see a craft in the Manawatu River oAvncd by Manawatu settlers.
