LAND BALLOT

SOLDIER SETTLEMENT ON Me-

KENZIE ESTATE,

Palmerston N., Sept. 2,

The land ballot for the McKenzie estate, Kairanga, and the Oturoa settlement, near Foxton, was held at Palmerston. The morning was faken up with the examination of one hundred applicants. Many of the original applicants withdrew their names, especially in connection with the Kairanga block. There were several eases in which only one applicant appeared. Following is the result of the ballot: —
