ANVANCES TO SETTLERS'
LAST YEAR’S TOTAL. • The animal report of the State_ Advances Office shows that advances to settlers authorised during-last financial year were as follow:
The total advances to settlers now current are 19,811, for £7,390,141. The number and amounts of current advances on rural and urban and suburban land are as follow;
The amounts of the advances actually paid over to settlers during the year were 799, for £299,355. The gross profits for, the year were £67,047, and the cost of management and expenses of the branch £9,725,' or 2s Id per £IOO of the capital employed. The net profits -amounted’ to £55,765,. The sinking fund amounts to £844,868. The advances to workers numbered .372,. to the. total amount of £119,555. The total advances to
workers now current are 9,675, amounting to £2,576,578; The gross profits of the year were £13,387, and the cost of management and expenses of the branch £2,967, or 2s 5d per £IOO of the capital employed. Of the not profits, £B,OOO has been applied to writing down loan charges.
