SUPREME COURT.

Timaxu, Yesterday. At the Supreme Court, Harris Grand, charged with breaches of ihe bankruptcy law, was found not guilty. Edward Frank Knight was charged with arson—burning his own temporarily unoccupied cottage at Waimate—and perjury in denying at the lire inquiry that the was near the house the evening before the fire. The jury retired at 10.18 p.m. and returned four hours later with a verdict of not guilty on the arson charge. It disagreed as to the perjury charge, and a new trial was ordered.
