HIGH COMMISSIONER'S REPORT.

The High Commissioner cables as follows: —Manila prices early ’ this week touched £6l for J grade, shipment' to be August, September or October, but the present market prices are from £59- to £6O. The output from Ist January to 7th July was 577,000 bales. The New Zealand market is inactive, but steady. Current spot quotations for highpoint fair £52 10s, fair £sl, ship, ment to be July to September. Lower prices have been accepted for hemp arrived owing to shortage of storage accommodation. (The above was received on Tuesday afternoon, just after we had gone to press.)
