Count Senator Giuseppe Greppi, an Italian who entered on a diplomatic career in 1842, and represented his country in Vienna in Count Metternich’s time, and was afterwards in almost every European capital, recently celebrated his hundredth birthday.
The Adam’s apple is almost absent in the earlier forms of the human race, and becomes larger as the scale of intelligence ascends. The Ancient Greeks depicted their strong’ heroes and their highest types of manly beauty with the widge-liko mark in the neck. Among the most precious of perfumes, otto of roses has always had first place. It is produced chiefly in Bulgaria, from whence, before the war, came between 0,000 to 10,000 pounds of the essence every year. The value of this amount was from £IOO,OOO to £120,000.
