SUDDEN DEATH.

A somewhat tragic death took place at Himatangi yesterday afternoon, when Mr Christian YosS expired in a trap while being conveyed to the Himatangi railway station. It appears that deceased came from Palmerston by yesterday’s mid-day train to inspect an engine on a property between Himatangi and Motuiti. Upon being driven to the station on bis return, hq complained of not feeling well, and expired. Upon arrival at the station, Dr. Mandl was communicated with and immediately proceeded to* Himatangi, but could only pronounce life extinct. Mr PpPerson, deceased’s brothor-in-laiv, was also communicated with, and proceeded to Himatangi. Deceased had been under medical treatment for heart trouble, and under the circumstanV ees an inquest will not be necessary. The late Mr Voss was a wellknown and highly-esteemed settler, and served as a member of the Kairanga County Council, Palmerston Borough Council, and the Hospital Board. He was also connected with the New r Zealand Farmers’ Dairy Union, and a keen enthusiast in the dairying industry. His remains were conveyed to hiS lute residence, Boundary Road, Palmerston, and the burial will take place at noon on Thursday. Deceased was 05 years of age, , and leaves a widow and two daughters to mourn their' loss, and for whom much sympathy is felt. ;
