MANAWATU COUNTY ROADS.

The MamiAvatu County Council’s annual report to ratepayers, dealing with roads, slates; — The roads throughout: the County have stood up to the traffic well during last year, and can be classed as good. The system at present employed in keeping up Iho roads compares favourably with the systems employed by other Local Bodies along this coast. Although one hears a great many reports about concrete and tar macadam roads, these systems at present are only experiments, and a little more experience is required before the Council could launch out into huge loan expenditure to lay roads down in these materials.

For the year 1908 when there were not many motor ears on the roads this item only amounted to £3,193 Gs 3d.
