A BONFIRE.

PREMATURELY FIRED AT AUCKLAND. Auckland, Ye ster da y. The bonfire erected on Mount Eden by the Peace Celebrations Committee, and costing £IOO, was prematurely fired by mischief-makers at eight-o’clocl: on Sunday evening, and totally destroyed. The live presented a fine spectacle, despite a steady rain, and was watched by a large crowd of spectators. It led many to believe that peace had been signed.
