IMPERIAL SUPPLIES.
GROWTH OF BRITISH PURCHASES. £101,000,000 PAID OUT. To 7th June, the Imperial Government had purchased New Zealand produce to the value of £103,971,422. The biggest items in the bill are: Wool, £42,620,881; meat, £36,612,629; cheese, £14,157,165; butter, £5,930,689; sheep-skins,, £l,727,687. The quantity of meat in store (the equivalent of 601 b. carcases) at 7th June Avas 6,925,306, of which 4,599,075 were stored in the North Island and 2,326,231 in the South Island. The total shipment of meat to date has been 2,491,951 quarters beef, 8,848,594 carcases mutton, and 10,550,149 carcases lamb.
