“DOCTORED” MILK.
(From “Child Mail.”) If the stories that are current just now about (lie quality of the milk sent to Wellington tor sale as ‘‘fresh milk” arc correct —and there generally is some lire where there is much smoke —some of the farmers of this district are not “playing the game.” The milk sold for human consumption must pass a certain test (3.(5 butter-fat, we believe). At this time of the year tests are high. Many herds test upwards of 4 per cent, but ter-fat during the winter, while a live and even six test is not uncommon. Now, it is said that some unprincipled farmers are so unscrupulous as to “doctor” their milk, at the expense of the public. This is done by separating the cream from portion of the milk, or
