y\ start was made yesterday afternoon with the erection of a verandah to the pavilion at the green. Members prepared to work rolled np in force, and good progress was, made. The foundations were put (town, and altogether a good afternoon’s work was done. Voluntary assistance, both in’labour and cash donations, are being freely offered by members, and it is safe to say (hat before (he new season opens, some very material improvements will have been effected.

A meeting of the Social Committee was held yesterday afternoon, and it was decided to hold (he lirst euchre party and dance in the Town Hall on Thursday, June 1-1 h. Tickets for same’ can be obtained from members of the committee and others, at 2s (id each. From present indications the social promises to be a huge success. Considerable interest was evidenced in a challenge nialcb played on the local green yesterday afternoon, the conditions of which were that the skip of the losing team is to entertain members of the club at a dinner in the near future.
