ESCAPE OF A PRISONER.

Dunedin, May 1. While a young man mimed Arthur Leo Beon Ashton, who was sentenced to two years' reformative treatment was being taken to Invercargill to-day he leapt from the carriage near Edendale, and escaped into the bush. So far he has not been recaptured. Later. Arthur Leo Bear Ashton, the prisoner who escaped from a moving train on Thursday, was recaptured early this afternoon by Constable Barrett at Glencoe about twelve miles from the scene of the escape.
