BOWLING.

At a meeting of the Committee of the local bowling club held last night, it was decided (o' close the croquet lawn on Tuesday next, and the bowling green on Wednesday. The Nye Perns challenge match, Christie's rink (challengers) and Huntley’s team (holders) will lie played on Wednesday afternoon, and will be the last match of the season.

A start will he made wilh the topdressing of the croquet lawn on Wednesday afternoon, (ho soil for which has already been sifted, and is ready to be put on. All members able to attend who are not taking part in the Nye Ferns match, are requested to roll up and give a hand with the work on the croquet lawn.

It is the intention of the. Club lo carry out certain improvements to the pavilion, grounds and surroundings during the lime Ihe green is closed, and a general meeting of all howlers and croquet players is to lie held in the Town Hall supperroom on Thursday evening next to receive the Committee's suggestions in ltd* connection, and to discuss ways and means of having same carried out. All members are earnestly requested to attend this meeting.
