DR. MANDL DECLINES NOMINATION. '

The deputation that waited on Dr, Mandl last week with the inquest that he should allow himself to be nominated for the Mayoralty has received the following reply:—

“Gentlemen. —I have to thank you for the honour you do me in asking me to become a candidate for the Mayoralty, an honour which, after due consideration, I regret I am forced to decline, my principal reason being that to fill the office efficiently the coming yeajs will require of your Mayor an amount, of time which my professional occupation would, not permit me giving.—l have the honour to be, gentlemen, ■‘Yours, very sincerely, “C.‘ L, MANDL.”
