SALVATION ARMY.

HARVEST FESTIVAL.

SuccessCul Harvest Thanksgiving services wore conducted iu (lie Salvation Army Hull on Sunday and Monday last. The building was tastefully decorated under the direction of Captain Campbell and Mrs Cosgrove, and a choice display of produce was arranged by Messrs Brown and Frew, Special singing was arranged by Captain Coffin, and a topical address given by Mrs Coffin at the night service was listened to by a largo number of people. Last night a “Harvest Home” musical meeting was very largely attended, and the various items were most enthusiastically received, Mrs Coffin, in her elocutionary items, proved that she had been a close student of the art, and capti-' voted all in her recital of “Trouble in Amen Corner,” and “Two Pitiful Mites,” whilst Copt, and Mrs Coffin collaborated successfully in (he monologue “A Koval Heart.” The Captain’s boys (Harry and Norman) sang with great acceptance two very nice duels, and a Cornell solo rendered by the Captain was uniquely accompanied by himself on the organ. Mr Scolly also sang “Larboard Watch.” The “piece de residence,” however, was an action song, “The King’s Highway,” by Captain and Mrs Coffin, in which Mr A. Bangs acted as “dummy,” and gave a clever exhibition of immobility of countenance during the song, which demanded a vociferous encore. At the conclusion, Mr Hornblow acted as auctioneer, and disposed in a very humorous and profitable manner of the produce, the proceeds of whieh amounted to £S 5s Od, A hearty vole of thanks to all was proposed by Captain Coffin, and the National Anthem brought the series of meetings to a conclusion. The presence of Adjut. Baylis and members of (he Levin Corps was greatly appreciated by the local corps.
