A FATAL FALL.
John Halliday Brown, a widower, til years of age, employed as a driver by Muni, Cottrell and Co., at Wellington, was found lying in an excavation with bis neck broken ot a quarter to 7on Sunday morning. It appears that the deceased unharnessed his horse on Saturday evening and went to his lodgings at .11, Little Ceorge Street, for tea. He returned to the stables about 7 p.m,, amhwas not seen alive again.
