WEDDING.
GREIG—MORPETH,
A very-pretty wedding took place at Wellington on Wednesday afternoon at St. John’s Church, Willis Street, when Miss CEnone Morpeth, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs C. D. Morpeth, Wellington Terrace, was married to Mr Esmond Greig, son of Mr H. Greig, of Whited ill's, North Taranaki, and late of Foxton. The officiating clergy were the Rev. James Paterson and the Rev. Dr. Gibb. The church was decorated with palms and blue hydrangeas. The bridesmaids were the Misses Erica and Molly Morpeth, sisters of the bride, and the best man was Mr Giltillian Greig, of Matanau, Canterbury, cousin of the bridegroom. The groomsman was Captain Rupert Worley; both were in uniform. The bride’s dainty gown was of primrose georgette over silk of the same
shade. With it was worn a sash (beautifully embroidered in autumn tints), which -formed part of her grandmother’s trousseau. She wore a primrose-coloured picture hat, with brown lining, trimmed with a wreath of autumn leaves and touches of blue, and carried a bouquet of tioAvers toning with the dress. Miss Erica Morpeth’s dress was of panelled violet georgette, with a sash of gold tissue apd little balls of gold edging the hem and cuffs. Her hat was reseda valour, with touches of gold nnd violet. ..Miss Molly Morpeth’s dress was of palest blue silk, with an overdress of heliotrope georgette, with touches of violet.
She wore a Leghorn hat, trimmed with pale blue and violets, Both carried bouquets.. The bride’s mother, Mrs Morpeth, wore a gown of oyster brocade, trimmed with gold embroidery, veiled iu black niuon, and a while hat with plumes. Her bouquet was of; lovely red roses. Airs Greig, mother ol( the bridegroom, wore grey embroidered crepe dc chine with a blade hat, and carried a bouquet of yellow ros.es. Miss Alison Greig, sister of the bridegroom, wore a pretty luuul-puinled niuon dress over pale blue silk, and having a pink sash. AAith it she wore a black hat. After the ceremony a. reception was held at “Ercildoune,” the residence of the bride's parents. The rooms were charmingly decorated with autumn lints, and Hit* bride and bridegroom stood underneath a huge wedding bell of autumn leaves and purple (lowers to receive the good wishes of their friends. The same colour scheme was used in the table decorations. The bride’s travelling gown was of beaver corduroy velvet, with a velour hat. trimmed with touches of saxc blue and old rose. Air and Mrs Esmond Greig left amidst showers of confetti for the south, where they will spend a lew weeks, and will then return and mol or to their future homo, Uukearhuo, north of New Plymouth.
