LOYAL ADDRESS TO THE KING .

BY PRESBYTERIAN ASSEMBLY.

Christchurch, Feb. 26,

The ('(including business at the Presbyterian General Assembly today was Ihe adoption of the following address to His Majesty the King, on the motion of the Moderator :

“The General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of New Zealand begs anew to tender to His Majesty the King an expression of its profound loyally to his throne and person, and of its unbounded admiration for (lie lofty Christian example which he and Her Majesty the Queen and the other members of mir ancient Royal House have set to tin; nation during the recent years of unparalleled trial, the steadfast confidence in God, heavenly wisdom, and strenuous self-sacrifice which have been so gloriously manifested in (he palace, have laid all the inhabitants of His Majesty’s widespread Empire under a debt of gratitude which cannot be altered. Rejoicing in the glorious victory which the Almighty has been pleased to grant the Allied nalions against the out break of wickedness which so formidably menaced the world, the Assembly heartily and fervently prays that the King and his .councillors and all the representative leaders of [lie nalions allied, with him may have Unit double measure of the spirit of God which the present momentous crisis so urgently needs, in order that* (lie basis may be laid strong and immovable of a new world order which shall manifest as never before the righteousness of peace and joy in the Holy Ghost wherein consists the Kingdom of God. With full hearts the General Assembly prays that, oujr noble King and his gracious Consort may be long spared to reign in the exaltation of righteousness over an Empire invincible in its loyally to our God and His Christ.''
