COLONEL ABC RE DIE KILLED

A sad motor car accident happened yes i onlay, Lieutenant-Colonel Malt hew MTredic being killed. He paid a visit to Morere to attend the siock sales, and was returning to his station at Mahia by motor. The car was driven hy Mr Bowen, of Paritit. The ■other occupants were Mrs Gower and .Miss Gower, Lpon reaching a corner of the road, the party met a live-horse wagon, and, lo avoid a collision, Air Bowen swerved (he ear. and it capsized over a hank.
The occupants were pinned under the car. and when extricated it wafound that Colonel' .M‘Cm]io was dead.
The other occupants were not ,seriously hurt.
