AUCKLAND TO BLUFF. Auckland, Feb. 19. Mr Sydney Mair, in ins presidential address at the Society of Civil Engineers' Conference, favoura hly reviewed Air Hurst Seagar’s proposals for a great memorial road from Auckland to the Bluff. He said that a concrete road IS feet wide would involve a capital expenditure of £fi,ooo,ooo. The suggestion provided for a national and economic memorial quite within our means. He irusted it would receive the support, not only of individuals, hut also of represent:!)ive societies.
