FOXTON BOROUGH COUNCIL.

ROAD FOREMAN’S REPORT,

The road overseer (Mr A. G. Huntley) reported as follows at last night’s Council meeting: During the month of January the road staff was engaged as follows: Tarring and sanding lower end of .Main Afreet, grubbing lupins and clearing grass at Victoria Park, facing head of culvert with concrete -at gas works and filling in same with spoil, tarring and sanding Union Street footpaths, and general maintenance work. We still have Wharf Street footpath to tar and sand, after which there will he about 20 barrels of tar remaining. About three weeks ago a fire destroyed the manuka faseining on one of tiie sand cuttings in Johnston Street, and this will need to be replaced as soon as possible. It would also ho advisable to protect sand cutting in Russell Street, next to Park gate.—-The report was adopted, and the foreman was instructed to also plant cuttings with ice-plant.
