(Own Correspondent). Moutoa lias returned to normal conditions with the close of (he Christmas holidays. The weather has been anything but good, the rains delaying tho hay season considerably. We are experiencing a very Heeling summer. The llaxmilling industry is now in full swing again. Although there is, as usual, a scarcity of experienced llax cullers. Doubtless millers will be increasing their output now the embargo has been lilted from Anw erica. Moutoa will be represented at the Boy Scout camp, which opens on Monday next, at Wanganui. A inimical ion was received last night from Miss "Wilson, of Bulls, the provincial secretary for the Wellington district, to report that concessions for boy scouts in uniform to travel on the trains for half farn had been granted. The boys receive eVery care 1 , and all risks are eliminated. It promotes the esprit tic corps in the boys, and judging by the programme mapped out by the promoters they should have a truly wonderful time. Who would not be a boy again for tea days and be a' follower of Kim, the Boy (Seoul, who was called by the Indians "little friend of all the world. ’’ Mrs T. Drier, a former resident of Moutoa, and now of Cambridge, \\ aikalo, is spending a short vacation here, and is the guest of her sister, Mrs H. Drier. Mr and Mrs T, Drier had the misfortune to lose their eldest daughter, Elsie, at the end of last year, and the sympathy of all their old Moutoa friends is extended to them iu their bereavement, Mr and Mrs Callaud are spending a short holiday with friends in Palmerston North.
