REDUCTION IN CONVICTIONS. The number of convictions lor drunkenness at the local Magistrate’s Court for 1918 was IS, being the lowest ever recorded. There lias been a steady reduction during the last few years, as the following figures, covering a period of 18 years, will show. In 1960 I Ik* number of convictions was -16; 1901,.61; 1902, 72; 1903, 52; 1901, 82; 1905, 48; 1906, 64; 1907, 56; 1908, 50; 1909, 53: 1910, 56; 1911, 42; 1912. 38; 1913, 35; 1914, 26; 1915, 24; 1916, 22; 1917, 20; 1018, 18.
