BOROUGH FINANCES.

The Borough Treasurer reported at last night's Council meeting as follows The sum of ,€5Bl 10s 8d was received during the month of .December and placed to credit as under: District fund account €504 3s 2d, cemetery account £2O 7s (id. The balances of the various funds at the Bank of New Zealand as at the 31st December, 1018, were as follows : District fund account, debit, €7OO Os Bd, cemetery account, credit, £42 10s Id, and the ledger balances at the same date as follows: Cemetery £42 IGs Id, hospital and charitable aid €l2 4s Od, library €7 16s 9d. reserves £9l 2s sd, sanitation £197 8s 9cl, town ball £lls 8s sd, roads and streets loan interest £3l 2s lid, Wbirokino Bridge loan interest £25 18s 3d, Shannon bridge £24 8s lid, Council chamber £9 9s lid, Wbirokino bridge additions £lB 2s .Bd, roads and streets loan No. 2* €9 15s sd, Beach road loan £4O 0s Od, all in credit, a total of £O2O Is od.
