BEACH IMPROVEMENT COMMITTEE.
A meeting was hold in (he new hall at Foxton Beach on Saturday, 11th inst., to receive reports of work carried out and receipts and expenditure by the Beach Improvement Committee, also to elect a new .committee. The financial year ended April 30th, 1918. The report has been published, but this was Hie first opportunity of getting the Beach people together. . There was a fair attendance, Mr Linklatcr being chairman. Mr Brail’s resignation as secretary was received with regret, and thanks accorded him for his services. Both reports were adopted. Proposed by Mr Torlonsen, seconded by Mr Sjccly, and carried, Unit, Mr A, Dawick be chairman and secretary, also four householders from Palmerston, two from Foxton end I lie pilot form I lie committee. Messrs ■]. Linklatcr. W. Turner, E. Ilolben, IV. Hock, and AM E. Barber were duly elected. Voles of thanks were passed to Mr C. Harwood for (he results from hall entertainments, Cl 6 11s 9d, and Mr Sicely, secretary of the Sports Committee, for .013 14s 10d towards the Beach funds.
