BOWLING.
The Awahou Feathers presented by Dr. Aland! at the beginning of the 1910-17 season for competition hot ween (he Foxton, Shannon and Levin Clubs, and which bad been held continuously by local rinksj yesterday changed bands, n rink from Levin defeating the holders by live points. The conditions of the competition provide that at least two of the players in each rink must not he more than second year players. Daring the last two seasons both tite Levin and Shannon Clubs had made several attempts to get. possession of the trophies, but. without success. The home team yesterday started oil’ well, scoring six on the first four heads. Levin puton it single on the fifth' head, and Foxton followed with a two on the next. Levin scored another one on the seventh, and the local leant evened this up on Ihe eighth head. Levin scored cm I lie ninth and eleventh heads, and Foxton on the tenth and twelfth. . Al this stage the afternoon tea adjournment was taken, the score fining 12 —7 in favour of Foxton. On resuming, Levin ‘‘backed” up to some purpose, scoring on six beads in succession, the scores being 1,1, 4,4, 3, and 1, making their total 21 to Foxlon’s 12, and only three heads to play.
