SCHOOL COMMITTEE
The ordinary meeting of the.ahove was held last night. Present: M essrs Hornblow (chairman), Rev. Brediu, Kellow, Claris, Ingle, Martin, Mei Murray, Perronu and W. Signal. A statement was submitted by Hie Treasurer showing Hie amount expended on concrete work, which totalled upwards of £4O. It was resolved to apply to the Board for amount expended over £2O out of subsidy held by the Board for this purpose,, and to ask leave for expending the balance of subsidy on some other necessary work when required. Resolved to urge the Board to expedite Hie erection of the new school building, as the present temporary class-rooms will not lie suitable during Hie hot weather. Resolved to pay the caretaker a fortnight’s salary from the date of schools closing, juid for a week prior to the re-opening in March. ,
A motion of sympathy was passed with the widow of Mr Keys,, late secretary of the Manawatu Schools Committees’ Association, and the Secretary was instructed to convex

Accounts were passed for payment, and the meeting rose.
